Newton South Little League Fall Program Information.
NSLL is committed to providing opportunities for kids to continue enjoying the game and developing their baseball skills throughout the fall season.
Fall Programs:
The NSLL Fall Baseball programs may require travel to other Newton Little Leagues as well as to Needham, Belmont, Brookline, Waltham and/or Weston. Beginning in early September, two games per week are played (one weekday and one on Sunday) for six weeks. We have found that the fall programs further enable players to develop their skills since they are more or less the equivalent of another spring season of experience. For purposes of the fall league, participants must be age eligible for the 2009 Little League Spring Season. The cost of the Fall program is $100 and the application is due by August 17, 2008. Applications received after August 17th are subject to a $15 late fee and placement is not guaranteed.
Major Division Program - Consists of players who were members of a Major Division team in the spring of 2008 and will be eligible for the 2009 Little League Spring Season. Occasionally players from AAA teams may be considered, strictly by invitation only. All league age 12 year olds for 2009 will be placed onto Major league rosters to ready them for the Spring 2009 season (unless a waiver is granted).
Minor Division Program - Consists of players who were members of a team in either the AAA or AA leagues in the spring of 2008 and will be eligible for the 2009 Little League Spring Season. Players are combined on fall teams, based on the number of registrants. AAA rules are used. Participation of A level players is not encouraged, unless they have had some exposure to kid pitch ball in one of the summer leagues.
Registration - Registration will be online this year at this Active.com web page. Please realize that because we try to balance the teams as best possible we cannot generally honor requests for kids to be together.
